Robert Kraese spent his career as an engineer with the New York Electric Company, building and maintaining the systems that keep cities running. After retiring and settling into the warm light of Florida, he turned his hands to a different kind of work — one with no schematics, no schedules, and no straight lines unless he wanted them.
His paintings range from quiet figurative studies to bold abstract experiments, often drawn from the natural world around him: birds, butterflies, the slow shapes of trees. His pottery is hand-thrown and finished with the same patient attention he once gave to circuits and wiring.
Robert lives and works in Florida, where his studio overlooks a garden he’s still learning the names of. New work is added throughout the year, and select pieces are available for sale.
